Top Ten Funniest Happenings - Day 1 - 06/23/07

Today we left New York City and headed down to Washington D.C. We went to some cool sites like the Battlefield of Princeton and Valley Forge. We are now staying with two lovely and outrageous twins, Fran and Ellen. The drive was adventurous. Tammy has two tanks but only the smaller one works. It only holds 12 gallons and we only get 6 miles to the gallon so we had to stop 5 times for gas.... Disney's credit card company called because they thought something shady was going down.

Well here's our top ten funniest happenings of Day 1 ( in no particular order)

1. “Liberty Bell” – Disney accidentally google mapped the directions for liberty bell street instead of the Liberty Bell. We ended at a crappy buffet where there was an ugly baby and an asian waitress who was totally interested in Disney

2. Mechanicsville Lane and Street Road – two names of streets we thought we're funny in Pennsylvania

3. Seeing where Disney’s ancestor, General Hugh Mercer, got stabbed by red coats

4. Getting the hooka shut down at a “Great Gatsby Party” by some really preppy guys. (We realized we were no longer in New York.)

5. Soaring Kierkegaard – the new name for tyler’s band

6. Trying to trade beef jerky in exchange for a place in the toll line

7. Disney’s crazy fume dream – Whenever you drive Tammy, fumes come out of the engine under the wheel (you can feel hot air on your legs.) Tyler was asleep and Disney had a crazy hallucination about a fleet of spaceships shooting ice cream cones at the sun

8. Disney’s email from his middle school spanish teacher. Here's an excerpt: “Hey guys! (or should I say "¡Buen viaje!"?) Good luck on your trip! I'll be watching!” (P.S. You rock Senora Gray.)

9. Disney ripping his pearl snap shirt off at the Gatsby party (it was by request.)

10. Grant’s Message – Grant Mitchell was supposed to come on the roadtrip, but as the departure date neared, Grant hinted at maybe not being able to go because of Summer class. We didn’t hear from Grant for a couple days and he didn’t show up to the party. Today we got a message from Grant that went something like this, “Oh my gosh guys, I was about to come to your party but I read the invitation and realized it was yesterday. Well give me a call, I want to see ya’ll before you leave.”……We were in Washington D. C. when we listened to that voicemail.
